SMART COLOUR TECHNOLOGIES
Additives
Florma supplies additives for two activity areas: the plastics industry — light stabilisers, antioxidants, crosslinking additives, conductivity and antibacterial activity — and the paint and coatings industry, with Evonik's additive line for wetting, dispersing, rheology and defoaming. They are supplied as powder, as granulated concentrate, as liquid or as spray, matched to the process and to the product's regulatory requirements.

Engineering and support
Florma doesn't just sell an additive — it matches it to the material, the process and the regulations, and trials it in the lab before production.
Choosing the additive
The additive is matched to the polymer or paint system, to the process and to the product's requirements, before it is ordered.
Lab trials
Twin-screw extruders, MFI and rheology in the plastics lab; applicators and dissolvers in the paint lab.
Regulation and documentation
Additives with regulatory approvals, and technical and regulatory documentation for every product.
Manufacturer know-how
Direct access to the technical support and selection tools of Evonik, Chitec and Vibrantz.
Additives for the plastics industry
Stabilisers, antioxidants, crosslinkers, conductivity and antibacterial — for masterbatch, injection and extrusion.

Antibacterial
Odour prevention, from a renewable source and with full regulatory approvals.
Antibacterial additives inhibit bacterial growth within the polymer and on its surface, which is why they are used in products exposed to moisture, to handling and to long service life.

IR reflective
A transparent IR barrier for a range of uses in plastics and coatings, and cool pigments.
Cool pigments reflect near-infrared radiation instead of absorbing it, so a dark shade heats up less in sunlight without any change in how it looks to the eye.

UV stabilisers
UV Stabilizer — UVA absorbers and HALS light stabilisers.
UVA absorbers take up the radiation before it reaches the polymer chain, while HALS scavenge free radicals and slow weathering down. The two complement each other and are usually used together.

Antioxidants
Anti-oxidation, protecting the material's properties against degradation.
Primary antioxidants scavenge radicals and secondary ones decompose the peroxides formed during processing. Together they preserve the material's properties both at processing temperature and over the product's service life.

Crosslinking additives
Photoinitiator — crosslinking activated by light or by UV.
The photoinitiator absorbs the light and releases the radicals or ions that start the crosslinking reaction, curing the system in seconds.

Conductivity
Additives that control the electrical conductivity of the polymer, for products required to conduct or to dissipate charge.

Anti-static
Static charge attracts dust and can discharge as a spark. Anti-static additives raise surface conductivity and dissipate the charge that builds up.

Flow improvers and cleaners
Flow improvers ease processing and reduce load on the machine; purging compounds shorten the changeover between one colour or material and the next.

Thickeners and dispersers
Thickeners control the viscosity of the system, and chemical dispersers spread pigments and fillers evenly and keep them from settling.
Additives for the paint and coatings industry
Evonik's additive line for wetting and dispersing, rheology, defoaming, silica and matting — for water-based and solvent-based systems.
Supply forms
The additives are supplied as powder, as granulated concentrate and as spray, to suit the process.
Powders
Pigment micro-granules, soluble dyes and powders for special effects.
Granulated concentrates
Granulated additives: processing aids, anti-slip, anti-static and anti-block.
High-load concentrates
Colour micro-granules at high loading, between 70% and 90%.
Release spray
A concentrated silicone-based release spray for injection and casting.
